Chapter 2 · 'Under The Bar'
Podcast Guest Intro and Pre-Prep Concept
June 20, 2019
Anyway. Welcome to another episode of Under the Bar podcast. This should be a good one. We've got Luke Lehman from Muscle Nerds. Minus the gorilla suit. Although, relatively staunch. Staunch-ish. Yeah, it's alright to say, oh, I'll get rid of my gorilla suit. But I'm still pretty big anyway. It's funny, I was talking to one of my long-term clients, Lenny Chad, who's just rebranded and reopened his gym in Bondi, Signature Fitness. With Paulie out there. Paulie Stevenson out there, right-hand man, running all the education. Yep. But he was saying, we're talking about Luke Lehman, and back in the day he had, I think Lenny might have had a bio-sig. Bio-sig. Or a PICP or something at his gym. And he said, I took Lehman out for dinner one night, and he said it was just uncontrollable, like alpha of all alphas, and just he was big and, you know. Back in the day. Yeah. He's turned a new chapter. He's a muscle nerd now. Loose cannon. But, yeah, he was delightful in the studio, although full of beans, full of energy. Yeah. That was the modafinil. Ephedrine. Ephedrine. Ephedrine. Ephedrine he had had. So this is part two of that extended chat that we had with Luke, and I think you guys will really enjoy this one. So he talks about the prepping to prep concept. Yeah, I've done a slight spin on that where not so much I've taken through it, but it's more, hey, get yourself sorted, come back and see me. Go do your prep before prep. Yeah. But they actually, that's part of what the systems that they use with muscle nerds, yeah? Yes. That's part of the process. Which is very good. We discuss reverse dieting once again. He's got to say get rid of it, surely. Get rid of it. Application. time and a place. I think he makes the point that for very high level athletes where everything becomes more and more extreme, then yes, a little bit of reverse dieting is not a bad idea. For the average competitor, look, just get calories back up, get the body fat back on, and get on with life. Seems to make a bit of sense. Then we go into gut health. The elephant in the room. The bucking bronco. The bucking bronco in the room. Calypso. Yeah, yeah. All right. And so lots of stuff covered there. The elimination diet. Did you go into fiber? Gluten fiber Yes Yeah Digestive support ox bile digestive enzymes all this kind of stuff So he gives a bit of an insight into what he does with the muscle and that stuff Yeah Yeah Yeah Yeah So well worth a good listen here from Big Luke. Yep. And an enjoyable interview. Excellent. So that's that. And it's been a long time coming. So we're finally happy to have him in the studio. Happy to have him in the studio. Right. And have our way with him. So we can get to him very shortly. Anything else you'd like to say, Roger?
