TRT, Steroids, and Health Considerations
October 27, 2023
Well, men, especially like you said, they're afraid their muscles are going to melt. And gentlemen, for you guys to understand what true aerobic fitness means and why it's important when you're on steroids or TRT, Luke is going to explain that. So I don't want to cut you off from what you're saying. No, no, no. Good. Good. Cut me off. Like that's a, there's a lot of different things like you look at you look at taking TRT and we have to have this discussion is that necessarily healthy we don't really know but it's probably better than not having testosterone and having insomnia inability to put on muscle mass having sarcopenia getting fat and having no energy and having depression so it's far better right and and I guess it depends on like your doctor and how much they dose you right if you're on like regular TRT or whether they put you on like sports TRT plus, or whether you do what most guys do is they hoard bottles and they take extra and they, and then they don't take a shot for two weeks so that they keep it. I'm not kidding you. Most of the guys I know will get there, just get their testosterone. They'll get their primo test in or whatever they're getting from the doctor. And then they'll buy black market stuff and they'll get fucking yote. And then they'll stop taking it before they go in and they'll, they'll do, they'll purposely do things like three hours of cardio a day and not sleep and maybe get wasted the night before their labs they'll show up with like no testosterone and they'll just keep getting prescribed i think it's beautiful um i'm jealous because it's so hard for me to get testosterone in australia because i walk in and i'm lean and i've got some muscles on me and even though i show them my labs that i'm hypogonadal they'll go you don't look like you need it so i'm like okay thanks i love that i fucking love it we got that in the u.s too like you're too young you look too fit you seem too happy or like what i've heard literally the most ridiculous shit i heard like the other day a guy was like well the doctor said that he's going to test me for adhd instead yeah i don't need don't even get me don't even get me started on adhd thing someone who was diagnosed when they were a kid and has been dealing with this their entire life. It's so ridiculous. Most of the people I know with ADD are just fucking unorganized and they just spending too much time fucking around with stuff that doesn matter Like talking on fighting off with people on Facebook and social media but that a whole nother story but yeah Yeah And I I mean I can talk about ADD too and what to do if you are have ADD, how to, there's a lot of things I've had to figure out as I got older of how to manage things like heart rate and blood pressure when you're taking basically natural synthesized speed for your for your attention deficit stuff but um i think one of the one of the things i wanted to kind of explain is a when you look at the people who talk about cardio ruining your gains it's it's almost always big meathead bodybuilders right and it's so weird because traditionally we would do a lot of cardio leading into a show you'd start out with like 20 minutes, three days a week. And when you weren't seeing anything, you go to 24 days a week and then 25 days and you go to 25 minutes. And then by the time you got on stage, you'd be doing two hours of cardio a day. Right. If you look at who's, uh, what's his name? Um, Bumstead. Like I was watching, yeah, I was watching his prep on YouTube. Um, when he was getting ready, I think for the Arnold or for the Olympia, he was okay. This is a guy that's like 235 pounds shredded he's like three or four weeks out he's doing two hours of cardio plus his weights on 1600 calories right and normal dudes who aren't getting on stage are scared of doing fucking calories and they're scared of dieting hard enough to get as lean as they want to get so it's like come on um yeah and hit like with his stature and i saw him in person i'm like okay wow like that's yeah that's impressive but if you can't diet and like you i'm hungry and then allow of that to take over your life, then you're not going to get as lean as him. And a lot of guys want to look like him. And granted, it's not just the dieting factor, why he looks like that. But and let's, let's look at that too. Like, do people really want to look like him? So now you have to look at, you have to look at like, if you're, if you're a trainer or your coach, you have to look at your demographic. Like I don't have any client train, almost 90% coaches and 10% just normal gym pop people. I don't have a single person that wants to look like a professional bodybuilder, not even classic physique. They might want to look like a very scaled down version of that, but most of the guys want to look like a cover model on men's fitness, right? That's, you know, that's like more appealing to normal people who aren't in our industry. And even for the people that I train that are in the industry, most of the guys, that's what they want to look like. Like they don't want to look like a big ass bodybuilder and they already know how much work it takes. Like you, that you don't end up with a physique like that by accident that takes many years of being on the point all the time and a lot of drugs so no it it it takes no work you just sit and inject shit on your couch and then in two weeks after going to the gym you look like him yeah that's it like you don't even have to lift weight you just do like jane fonda body pump stuff and you'll just get massive but it's just it's so weird because there's so much misinformation that surrounds this stuff and um
