Magnesium and ATP Bioavailability

I think a lot of people need to understand too that vitamins and minerals can do different things They situational dependent right So you hear people all the time say, oh, magnesium, it's a sleep supplement. Okay. So if it was a sleep supplement, if you take an electrolyte with magnesium and then you go squat, have you ever fallen asleep during a squat? No. It does help sleep. It helps relaxation, right? It's a calcium channel blocker. But if you take magnesium and you need ATP, and you're stimulating AMPK, then you're going to make more ATP and then you're going to make ATP more bioavailable. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. And so when you have a look at magnesium itself involved in 600 different enzymes, they're not all driving one particular function. Not all putting you to sleep, obviously, are they? No, hell no. Yeah, that's a good point with magnesium in particular. You actually, I think you describe magnesium really well when you say it creates an off switch. It doesn't turn it off. It makes sure you're capable of switching off. That's right. Yeah. so um and you'll find that when this is it goes back to our original point if you are magnesium deficient and that sort of stuff there is a time and a place for mega dosing magnesium you'll know when you've corrected your deficiency and you're going over because you'll get the squirts um but a lot of these things don't have those sort of side effects you know like a lot of the b vitamins and that sort of stuff you overdose them they get into your body you might get some colored urine thinking oh that's fine it just goes straight through your own but on the way it creates all sorts of problems you know can i can i address another beef about vitamins when they say oh it just makes your urine expensive and passes straight through you
