Supplements for Mitochondrial and Cardiac Health
August 01, 2018
While we're on the subject of cardiac health aside from the training stuff that you talk about. Do you have any specific foods or supplements that you're a fan of for those listening to this that can give you that one to two percent benefit? Yeah. So realistically, CoQ10 for sure. There's a large amount of CoQ10 in the heart. There's a large amount of CoQ10 in the mitochondria, right? And you recycle a lot of that, but a lot of people have issues recycling it and you don't get a lot from your food. So I highly recommend most people take you know 100 or 200 milligrams if you bickle and all that's the form i'll typically use um if you're on a statin we'll typically talk to it we'll talk to your doctor first because we don't just give people that are being seen by a doctor stuff we'll we'll say you know statin um you know here's the literature showing three to four hundred milligrams of coq10 what that can do for the electron transport chain to help give you more to eliminate fatigue and eliminate some of the other things that are happening to your clients we do a lot of mitochondrial support when we first start training somebody in that prepping to prep least mode phase. So we'll give CoQ10. We'll give things like micronized PQQ. We'll give things like fulvic acid or shilajit. We'll give things like aflopoic acid, the R-isomer. We'll give people more acetylcarnitine and things like that. Those are the things we typically see that people are having an issue with. And we give thorneurochondria. That's the one that I'll typically give people because you can take three of those twice a day. And it has a lot of this stuff other than the fulvic acid, other than the PQQ. It has most of everything we just talked about. As far as foods, if you don't, this is a hard one because the good majority of CoQ10 is going to be in like beef heart, which a lot of people go ooh I won eat that You know it hard to get people to eat brains and hearts and stuff like that But if you can if you can get you some beef heart and cook it up rare there's a ton of CoQ10 in, and you do lose a little bit in the cooking, but if you cook it rare, you keep a lot of it. Or throw it in your slow cooker and just keep it in there for eight hours and make a little stew out of it, and it's actually really quite good. Okay, interesting. I guess you could try that.
