Luke's Early Influences and Career Evolution

All right. You know what? If you want to go all the way back, it started when I was a little kid, man. I think I was about six years old. It would have been 1984 when Arnold Schwarzenegger came out and Conan the Barbarian. And so I saw Arnold, and I'd never seen a guy at six years old. He was really impressionable. And you see that, and you're like, holy shit. Like that's the way a man should look. And so I said, that's how I want to look. So my parents thought it would be funny, and they bought me a weight set when I was a little kid, and I just never stopped lifting. So fast forward to like junior high, you know, you're lifting for Texas football. Get into high school, I started the powerlifting team in my hometown. Then when I went to college, I kind of got a little bit into bodybuilding, but I still love powerlifting. So I did that until my late 20s and then really kind of went hard out in physique and powerlifting. bodybuilding for a while. And I never got on stage as a bodybuilder, just because I didn't want to wear a banana hammock. So I always did the physique stuff and the stuff like the small speedos, not the not the really small speedos. And yeah, and then you know, I started I started studying Charles's stuff back when like 1992 93 when he was in muscle media and when testosterone when the Central Magazine first came out and I was looking at Charles Poliquin, Charles Staley, Paul Chek, like all these guys back then. And then I just basically just started researching everything I could and studying as much as I could And in 2007 started doing courses at Poliquin Group Within a a couple of years I was working for them as an assistant And then in 2013 I went on full time stayed there for about two years and then decided to leave and started Muscle Nerds And so that's where I've been now for the past three years.
