Chapter 1 · The ATP Project

Introduction and Guest Background

January 25, 2018

Welcome to the ATP Project, the personal trainer's trainer. In today's podcast, Matt, Steve and I interview Master Coach Luke Lehman from Muscle Nerds and what I describe as a holistic master trainer who applies fact-based research into best practices for training, nutrition and performance. Luke lays out what he believes is missing in the industry and how Muscle Nerds approaches many of the high-level issues facing PTs and their clients today, such as the controversial topic of how best to use cardio to burn fat, maximizing performance through training and nutrition that does not believe in a one-size-fits-all approach. We cover a lot of ground over training, getting past a plateau, high-intensity training versus steady-state cardio, supplementation, as well as testing out Luke's knowledge on some listener FAQs. As always, the information in this podcast is not designed to diagnose, treat, prevent, or cure any condition and is for information purposes only. Please discuss any information in this podcast with your healthcare professional before making any changes to your current lifestyle. Stay tuned, the ATP Project is about to start. Welcome to the ATP Project, delivering the irreverent truth about health, aging, performance and looking good. If you're sick and tired of being sick and tired, ready to perform at your best or somewhere in between. Then sit back, relax, and open your mind as Jeff and Matt battle the status quo and discuss everything health-related that can make you better. Welcome to the ATP Project. You're with your hosts, Matt, Jeff, and Steve. And today we have with us special guest star, Luke Lehman from Muscle Nerds. Oh, star. G'day. How's it going? G'day. I've been working on my accents. Yeah, I was going to say, mate, don't try and pass off as an Aussie because you're a Blatant Texan. Mate, so thanks for coming on the podcast, mate. It's good to have you. Yeah, it's great. Thanks for having me. So Luke, tell us a little bit about yourself, what you do in the industry, sort of what your profession is and how you help people. Well, I'm a Pisces and I like long walks on the beach and candlelight dinners. And yeah, so
