Defining Hypernutrition and Megadosing Dangers

June 01, 2018

So we're talking about hypernutrition, is that correct? Yeah, yes. Okay, so I've done no prep at all for this, which makes no difference really because I'm just here as the normal guy talking to your experts, but what is hypernutrition, Matt? Oh, basically what happens is there's this idea that there's natural stuff is good for you, pharmaceutical and synthetic stuff is bad for you, and that if we take mega doses of natural stuff, we're only going to get better and better and stronger and stronger. In reality, there are times and places for us to use mega doses of vitamins and nutrients, in a naturopath clinic or as part of a sports therapy or sports performance sort of strategies. But in that instance, we're using these natural compounds more like drugs for a particular purpose. So what we're going to talk about today is the time and place to use megadoses, some of the dangers associated with using megadoses when it's not appropriate, and just reminding people that regardless whether it's pharmaceutical, synthetic or natural, you can get too much of a good thing. and we've got some crazy ass stories of things that people have done and yet we've seen and other common mistakes that a lot of people don't realize they're doing so that's what we're going to do is a time and place for hyper nutrition for hypertrophy excelling in performance correcting deficiencies or using or correcting disease states using natural stuff and then there a time for general wellness maintenance and just to make sure we covered the the basics so talking to luke before we started the other the other um uh title that we were going to call the show is uh dumb things that what was it dumb shit i've done to myself yeah with nutrition yeah yeah so and i wouldn't mind starting off with actually a couple of stories so that people might be able to relate to this
