Individualized Coaching and Toolboxes

September 25, 2025

it's everything like to suit the clients that we work with like that's right truly individualized to to who we work with like no exception and that's what that's what makes the challenge of teaching this stuff right because you have i'm in class with say 40 people and they're all for completely different areas of the industry they all have their own individual biases their own event individual sports and all that it's like how do i convince these guys that are so muscle bias centric don't care about movement just building muscle how do i get them to understand that you need you need to sprinkle a little bit of this stuff and then then talk to the movement guys it's like you guys move well but you could realistically do with a bit more strength like like externally loaded strength instead of just body weight strength so it's like how do we get everybody to understand that you know it's like they say with the truth like your side of the story my side of the story some of them analyze the truth and how do you get them to understand that we don't want to really especially for our clients be super biased in one direction without having a little bit of percentage of this other stuff too because it's really important yeah yeah and that's why you you teach us a lot of the different variables to look at yeah you know it's like you've got to take everything into consideration and it's usually always the whiteboard and lots of like you know scribbling and a lot of different scenarios and case studies that we can all sort of you know bounce our brains around like and just exchange experience we're really lucky with our students because we take pride in the fact that the people that we attract are people that want to think and they're open to those ideas. And they're, you know, you get a lot of people who are like, no, my way or the highway, or you have to do this or that. There is no gray, it's all black and white. So we do, you know, you try to attract the types of people that you want to work with. And that is all of our students. Like, I can talk about out-of-the-box thinking. And the big thing that we teach, like other educators teach a process of, here's a 10 step process to do this, or they teach a system. We teach a system of no systems. Like it's like the Bruce Lee thing, right? So it's like, you know, I, I, I've got it. I have experienced powerlifting, strong man, grappling, MMA, bodybuilding, gen pop. It's like, having those tools allows you to solve problems, which is what a good coach should be doing. Like your client has a problem. They're willing to trade you some cash to solve the problem. if you don't have a big toolbox, you're going to try to solve the problem with the tools that you have. And those may not be the tools that are actually appropriate for that. So it's like really, really creating a blueprint of where my client is and trying to create a flow chart. Like, okay, can the client do this? No. Have you considered this or this or this? We're going to find some strategy that turns that no into a yes. But a lot of guys aren't, they're not willing to think about that. They think, well, if there's, if someone's fucked up, we'll just use machines, just work around it. It's like, cool, that's fine. You can work around it. That's never going to fix the problem. And if you don't at least attempt with a little bit of stuff to fix that, the stronger they get, the less capable they're going to be.
