Childhood Diagnosis and School Discipline

June 06, 2022

when was it when was it you were diagnosed were you diagnosed as an adult or as a child no as a kid yeah so like is this something that you're like your parents suspected or was this something do you do you actually remember getting diagnosed um i can't remember what age it was but it was you know just a lot of like disruptive behavior inability to concentrate and i just kind of cruised through school just just just being smart you know just being smart not having to do you know what school wasn't that hard um and i guess that was part of the ad too but i was constantly getting in trouble i think when i was in high school we did uh so we still got spankings in high school when i was there like we were the last class to get paddled and i think i got paddled like 200 and something paddlings in one year which um if you got paddled a certain number of times you got to sign the paddle so i got a couple of signatures on the paddle did anyone try to get paddled more for that reason just as like i want to be able to sign it i don't think so i said i certainly didn't i said because it was not fun um because we had a pretty big uh uh principal at our school and he could swing that thing. And then he had the bad kids paddle, which is like hitting somebody with a goddamn Oak tree. Um, yeah. So I never got hit with a bad paddle. I just got hit with a normal paddle, but, um, yeah. So then I think, you know, cause I was kind of on and off, um, when I was a kid, I didn't like the way Ritalin made me feel, so I wouldn't take it So I just stopped And then I got into college and got on back on it like in my early 20s And then you know here the thing like you said you told me earlier like you know I forgot to find out what the results were when I went to testing and all that. That's the same thing. I ran out of medication, forgot to refill it, and then just went back on this ADD path of just driving off the road into the fucking end of the fucking bush, you know, and never got back on it like i
