Long-term Investment vs. Quick Fix Mindset

January 10, 2025

So I think a lot of people need to be, they need to step back. Like when you're talking to your coach, step back and go, okay, what do I want to do? And the coach should be doing this too. Like, okay, what do you want to do? If somebody signs up with a coach for say 12 weeks, we need to have a discussion of what needs to happen in the 12 weeks. But that discussion also has to encompass what do you want to do in 24 weeks, 36 weeks, 48 weeks, a year and a half, because what you do in that block of training is going to affect the next block of training and the next four blocks of training. It's all compounding interest, right? And I think if people would treat their exercise, lifestyle, nutrition, stop trying to... A lot of people go into this stuff looking at it like crypto trading, like they're buying a meme coin and trying to get rich. But what we need to do is think about investing in this like a long-term EFT or the S&P, something that's going to have compounding over time and we have delayed gratification, right? So if people had that mindset, they would not go too extreme. They would go to their capacity at the right level and right amount for something that's sustainable for a long time. And I completely already forgot the question. I just started rambling. It's my second podcast today. So I'm like, well, that actually feeds right into it because you kind of alluded to people need to be willing to do the day in, day out things over time for the level of results that they want. But most people aren't willing to do that so then like you said everything we do impacts the next block so fuck it up diet then what's the after after of that too extreme has ripple effects and then that is why people do not get to the place they want to be because then when they go to that other extreme and fuck things up what's what do they want to do they want to go back to restricting calories and the whole cycle continues where the end result is you're softer because you just lost muscle and gain more fat because you're in no man's land. And the thing is you could have, all right, so we can have on this side, we can have, okay, we're going to do it really slowly because maybe you do have a client that, you know, they've been doing all the wrong things for 25 years and they're finally ready to get their shit together and let you know how it is. You,
