Chasing Challenges vs. Chasing Comfort

November 10, 2019

And I heard Joe Rogan say this on a video the other day is that we're too busy chasing comfort because we think that that's going to make us feel better. What we need to be doing is chasing challenges and goals and trying to put ourselves in a position of being uncomfortable and working our way out of it and that's really what what we're what we're instinctively tuned to do is to overcome overcome obstacles but people don't want to overcome obstacles anymore they want us to be very comfortable right we need challenge to grow yeah i guess that's why you took on such a difficult field of study and in such a you know a point in life where people say oh you're too old to learn yeah i mean shit man how many people go back to school 40 years of age and you know more people should, right? But that to me, that's my drug. That's my addiction now. Like sit, sitting and watching lectures and reading textbooks and, and, and then trying to create new things. Like people always say there's nothing left to create in the industry. That's bullshit. There's nothing left to create. If you don't understand the body enough to create something like I had a, I had a guy that flew in. He's, he's finishing his osteopath school and he does, he comes to our house and he stays with us for two or three days every few weeks and we do a mentorship thing and we came up with a ton of new treatment protocols and a lot of new ideas about things that we were finding just some of it was by accident some of it was by thinking about what's connected to what maybe if we do this it changes this and then we try it and we're like oh that's crazy i've never seen that before and you know there's still plenty of room to grow and create things if you get the foundational knowledge enough to be able to create something yeah absolutely yeah i need those principles
