Navigating Relationships and Business Growth

March 14, 2025

Yeah, 100%. But that's a really important question I think that's going to start off this conversation is between the pair of us, obviously there is two very intimate dynamics between relationship and personal life. A lot of our listeners are new beginners, business owners. They're in relationships. And a lot of mentors that I've had over the years, a lot of business mentors I've had, have played the be cautious of intimacy in business, be careful of personal and professional. How did you guys find that immediate interaction of like, we've both got nothing, so this has to work, but also it's a new relationship, it's a new dynamic in and of itself, and you're throwing a business into it, and it's a business that you're passionate about, but there's no guarantee it pays off. How did that start? Did you have faith in it straight away? There's obviously going to be rough patches. We had faith in it straight away just because we had so much business right out the gate. Right. So it's like, uh, somebody, people look at us like, no, they're an overnight success. I'm like, no, no, no. I worked on this for 25 years before we got here. And so, yeah, it was a 25 year overnight success. Uh, but you know, nothing's guaranteed. Like you could, you could shoot out like a rocket and then it could fizzle out really quickly. And so because we got thrown into the deep end, we didn't have a choice. So it's, it's either sink or swim. So that was all, that was all good because we had the business already, like we had business coming to us already. So we had like cash options, but it was hard at first because we work very differently. Like she is incredibly organized, incredibly structured, makes a diary, follows a diary. And I'm not because I I'm one of the original ADD kids that got diagnosed when it was just now a thing. And I don't work, my brain doesn't work like that. Like I'm just kind of all over the place and I have no structure and I just get shit done when I get it done. And you know, I'm working on too many projects at one time where she can streamline herself and I can't. So there was a period at first where she had to learn how my brain operates in order to accept that. And then in order to learn how to drive me the right direction. So I didn't like go off in the bush. Yeah. She watched a lot of podcasts on ADD and ADHD and kind of got an idea about, okay, so he does have this condition. So yeah, he can't really help it. Like this is just the way it goes, But OK what are the benefits of that Well he has a crazy memory active recall He can simplify complex subjects He can see things in patterns that other people can see because their brains aren wired like that All right How do we leverage that How do I work with that So we did It took it took a good year and a half before we got into a good flow And then we figured out who what each person role was So then I would be I doing this and then I pass it off to you Right And then she gets it done And then if she needs something she comes to me you got to get this done Okay Boom Right So you basically like realistically you guys started creating SOPs for how to handle your brain. Yeah.
