March 14, 2025

G'day listeners and welcome back to another very special episode of the matter mentality podcast where we talk all things training nutrition and psychology to maximize your performance. today i am joined by the muscle nerd himself there is a title of the business is applicable as an adjective to him is a descriptor really and probably something is the reason why we align so much is they're pretty much the same way the big luke lehman how are we doing brother i'm good i'm good i'm so glad for my wife i was in the middle of a workout she goes you know you have a podcast in 30 minutes i was like oh shit so i had to rush home after after looking at like the the back and forth or like the the back ends and the about me and stuff in your business the amount that you and zoe are just me and brooklyn 10 years in the future is hilarious it is the fucking thing when i look through it i'm like your whole family was just like i'm the ideas guy i think on stuff and then send it to zoe it was like yeah back to our inbox from like 10 years but what six years ago and i'm like hey i've got this idea about a blog i've got this idea about this research got this idea about a concept and i'm like go do something with that yeah man yeah if i didn't have zoe nothing would ever get done like big i'm big picture i've died this guy but i can't get it i can't make it happen without her so it's a it's a very humble humble uh i guess honesty to have is like we know we do we know we bring the table yeah everybody's got to have their role exactly there's no point us both doing the same thing if we can both develop it what's the point she does the fancy shit i just i say the stuff yeah i mean that's the the first uh first big rule of business hire people that are good at shit you're bad at like that's how you run a business you don't you don't need another you you need somebody who fills the gaps in the shit that you hate doing or you can't actually do better than somebody else literally like i'm horrible at making content i can write the shit out of it i'll write a four-word blog on a single post but making it pretty and look good i got nothing on that so she can go she does the canberra like youtube edits and the snippets like we got like a five thousand dollar camera gifted so she learned how to edit vlogs and videos so that we can do youtube content i was like that's a you stuff i'll do the talking you can do that stuff my wife doesn't do technical stuff it's not her thing that's like i still do that type of stuff but uh because i enjoy it kind of video editing could be really fucking frustrating Yeah, I think I tried it. I was like, my limit was like CapCut. And I was like, back when we weren't both doing this full time, I was like, oh, CapCut, I'll just make something for like a training montage. It was like, add this here and some audio. I'm like, fuck this. The good thing is you can use AI now and it'll do it all for you. Yeah. I think that's going to be a great part of this chat we get into is like, AI's role in coaching business now, because that's going to be fantastic. But we're going to ramble all day. What I really want to get started with is, I think, and this is going to be a really important uh foundation for the rest of the conversation you guys started a very similar position to us and it's probably going to echo a lot across this conversation which i think people will appreciate in that you both had this idea you know the muscle nerd it was a page that was kind of made about you which i think is hilarious and yeah that sort of led to this idea of you guys being like well you'd be like hey let's do this full time and then literally just handed that to zoe was like yeah let's go let's go make that a thing what does that look like register the ASIC, do the foundation, set up the tax. I don't know how much of it she did and you did, but it was basically just like muscle nodes.
