Chapter 8 · Charlie Johnson - CJ COACHING
Societal Softness and Technology Dependency
March 04, 2021
The thing is, I think a lot of it's almost to do with, I'm not sure I like the term, but the snowflake generation. It's something that's driving me insane at the moment. Anyone out there knows how to fix this. My iPhone keeps turning down my music, saying I'm playing my music too loud. It's trying to protect my hearing. I'm like, I want to destroy my hearing and get amped up in the gym. That's my own conscious decision. I'm an adult. Apple, you have no rights to do this. It's just ridiculous. I don't need anybody to protect me. I don't need the government to fucking protect me. I don't need my PC to protect me. I can do it myself. I was talking about that to somebody today, actually, how soft people are going. Especially, look, I'm from Texas, and Americans are getting soft as fuck, and it's just crazy. No one has any sense of self-sustainability and just doing your own shit and knuckling down and getting it done. None of that. They want the government to take care of them. They want to cry. Yeah, fuck off. Stop crying. Pull your fucking big boy pants on and get to work. Get your shit done. But you've seen that over the last probably 12 to 14 years where the tech giants are now, they've been working on this for a long time. They want people to get dependent on technology and get to the point where they can't always order Uber Eats because nobody can cook anymore. They have to order from Amazon because they don't want to go to the store anymore. It's like, you know, I don't want to get conspiracy theorists type thing, but it's easy to see how all this convenience stuff is now fucking people's, it's fucking their desire to even want to do things and take care of things and take care of themselves. They're just completely throwing it out the window. In a very creepy, weird way. It's a bit like the film The Matrix, like people trying to live their life through their phones and gaming all this sort of shit now and now you've got all the shaming it's like you got the fat shaming you've got the gender shaming you've got this but no one says well what about the health shaming you're shaming me because i want to be healthy we've been shamed all the time here eat this cake eat this cake you don't have to eat like that all the time no i like to eat like this i like to work it i'll just come drink and do well we've been health shamed and fitness shame since since i've been in the industry since I was 19. I'll be 43 this month. Nobody ever cares about that. You can't even use the word fat on Facebook. I posted, I made a Wagyu brisket and said, look at all the fat. And I got a notice from Facebook telling me that it looks like you might be bullying somebody. I go, what? What the fuck are you talking about? It's insane. Insane. Yes, that's the crazy way things are going. And to come back to rather than conspiracies, which I know we can easily go down that tangent.
