The Importance of Sleep and Cardiovascular Health
October 13, 2021
You got to sleep. Sleep's the number one thing, man. You've got to prioritize sleep. That to me, that is the most important thing. Get your blood pressure down, sleep more, get your heart rate down, sleep more, get your sympathetic drive down, sleep more, recover better, sleep more. You know, you want to be less hungry when you're not hungry, when you're asleep, fucking go to sleep. and that's going to be probably a major theme of my heart disease hypertension course is dude sleep like nocturnal nocturnal heart rate nocturnal blood pressure is highly associated with all cause mortality if you can work on getting that stuff down when you go to sleep that should go down significantly so if you have if you have a high labor job or you have a highly stressful job and your metrics are fucked all day because that's just part of your job the best time for you to to fix that is while you're fucking asleep because that stuff should drop significantly. And if it doesn't, the second best thing is do your fucking cardio, um, do more metabolic work in the gym, lower the volume of strength training, raise the volume of your aerobic conditioning. There's some supplement stuff we could talk about as well, but get that in order and look at your Garmin forerunner or ring or whatever. See what your heart rate is at night and take your blood pressure before you go to bed. And right before you wake up, that's the most important time to get that blood pressure below 120 over 80. And I can tell you personal experience, if you can get those metrics really good, you will drop weight really fast and you won't hold as much water because you won't have hypertension and stress-induced edema. And that'll immediately make you look and feel better without doing anything else.
