Client Compliance and Tough Love

September 30, 2020

Yeah. Well, number one, you don't have to train everybody. And if you have a client that's not going to be compliant and not going to get you the data that you need within reason. I mean, you have to be, you have to be reasonable about it. Well, then you just don't have to train them. Just say, look, I can't help you. Like this is, I, this is what I charge. The reason I charge is because I'd like to get all this data. I'm looking at you as an individual. I'm taking subjective data, objective data. I'm analyzing, I'm creating protocols and I need you to do at least something. You either need to communicate or you're going to have to track some things. If you're not willing to do that, then I'm probably not the coach for you. Let me refer you out to somebody who doesn't actually give a shit and just will take your money and be your friend. And you and I've had these conversations before where I'm your friend, but when it comes to coaching, I'm not your friend. Shane's not your friend. Get your shit done or you can hit the road. And that's just the way it is. Like I can still be friends with somebody and tell them to fuck off or not coaching them. But as long as they can separate that, because I appreciate that, you know, because again, it's like, I don't understand why people would want to pay just to be told what they want to hear because there has to be some, you know, tough love too. Absolutely. And that's why, that's why I really only train the, uh, like the high level athletes and stuff because they're, they know how I coach. I don't mince words. If you're not doing your shit, I have no problem telling you do your shit. Like I don't need the headache of somebody who's not gonna do the thing. And then, you know, if they're not doing what we tell them to do and they're constantly altering the program, it's no longer our program. They don't get results like that. They want to, then they bad mouth us and hold on you actually didn't do a single thing i told you to do that's on you not me like i did all the coaching you didn't know how to apply it or you wouldn't apply it or maybe you don't need coaching you need therapy you know some people just need to go to the fucking counseling before they get trained but they don't want to hear that i've had a few clients like that where all of a sudden they blame you and then you're like well i actually laid it all out i could show you the emails to prove you know all that stuff so i could appreciate the frustration with that. Um, but back to like, so fixing those metrics when someone comes in and they've got blood pressure, blood pressure through the roof, their resting heart rate is like 92. Their HRV is like 12, you know, they sleep like shit, but they're like, Oh, I want to lose fat. What is the initial approach to fix all those metrics?
