Sodium and Water Manipulation

March 22, 2022

And I I heard you talk about that before And like like people were asking me if we did like a water load and cut and everything. And I was like, no, like we were high water, high sodium. Like it wasn't even like hit this, hit this. It was like just normal, which I was very grateful for, But yeah, and that sodium thing is a big one, too, because you sodium draws water to it. So if you cut sodium too early, you can manipulate some of these things. But people play with it too much when they don't know how their bodies are going to to how it's going to affect their body. So if you pull sodium too quickly, your body is just going to respond by cranking up aldosterone. So then if you do have a little bit of sodium, you're just going to hold to a bunch of water and you're going to smooth out and not be able to get rid of that. So you want to keep water high. you want to keep sodium high, you want to have that high a few weeks out. That way you can drive cortisol and aldosterone lower. That way, when you pull the water out last minute, the water falls off, you put a little sodium back in, it pulls any of that superstitious water back into the muscle where it belongs. And that way you don't have to worry about like last minute tactics of, oh shit, how do I get rid of this water? And I made the mistake. I remember I had a girl that was an IFBB pro bikini and the WBFF told her, if you, if you'll compete, we'll just give you a pro card and compete at worlds. Cause she was really phenomenal physique. When I was working with her, I started playing around a little bit of sodium, very similar to what I did with you. But what I didn't realize was she's a, she's a doctor. And so she's very anti-sodium. So the minute we gave her sodium, her body went, Oh shit. Yeah. And it just held onto that. And it ruined, it ruined worlds for her because I didn't ask enough questions. I didn't think that she didn't eat a lot of sodium. And so when we put the sodium in there, her aldosterone was sky high. So she held onto it and I couldn't get it off fast enough, but you know, you learn through these mistakes, but a lot of people keep the sodium high, keep the water high. You can always pull that out, but pull it out last minute. Don't go to no sodium. maybe you're doing like five or six grams of sodium maybe you're doing four liters of water and then the day before you can cut the sodium in half cut the water in half pump the carbs up a little bit more and everything should fall right off of you if everything's been done correctly
