Chapter 4 · Ali Do Is Win

The Scale and Metric Manipulation

March 22, 2022

The best thing you had me do was change it to kilos because I still don know the fucking math Like I'm like, whatever, like. Yeah, man, that's it. It's such a weird thing. I remember I was like, how do I, how do I scramble her brains? So she stops freaking out about a pound. Well, if we turn it to, if I tell her to turn her scale into kilos, she's not going to understand what that means. you're not going to pull out a fucking calculator abacus. You're going to pull out your TI-85 Texas Instruments calculator and start trying to figure out how many pounds 500 grams are. But if you think about it, if you gain 400 or 500 grams, you're like, oh, grams, that's a really small number. Well, that's a fucking pound. So psychologically, it's easier to put on 400 or 500 grams than it is to put on a pound. And I don't know why that is, but it works really well. Really well. And then looking back, I'm like, it's like so embarrassing to think like, oh my God. Cause you know, if I have clients and I have men who freak out like that and I'm just like, yo, like you gained like two pounds and I start laughing and I explain how I was that way. And I'm like, oh my God, thank you for not kicking me out. Cause it's like mortified to be like, oh my God, that was me. Like if I knew then what I've learned through your courses that I know now, and it's like, holy shit. It's like, it's so crazy that people are like, so wait, if you diet on low calories and, and we can say like when, when we wanted to get low, there were times you had me at 1100. However, I did not live at 1100 before I was living at 1100 and couldn't drop weight. Whereas now if we drop to 1100, I'm able to lose it. So it's like, oh my God, the psychology behind it but yeah
