Essential Fatty Acids and Fat Minimums

February 02, 2023

because i think you wanted to you wanted to me to talk about like the how much fat is essential or not and like how much you really need people can go as long as you're eating essential fatty acids like having a bit of fish or oily fish or fish oil you don't you don't realistically need tons of fat. So if you are a carboholic and you do want high carbs, it's totally fine to take your fat down pretty low. Now, you know, for health purposes, you probably want to look at a range of like 20 to 30% of your calories. So for me, I'll usually base that off of anywhere from like 0.5 to one gram per kilo of body weight. But sometimes you got to dig deeper to get it off. So sometimes you have to take people below that. the non-negotiable is the essential fatty acids because that's the one thing your body can't make and and the fat thing just yeah real quick and just understand that if you are going to dig deep and take fat down to really low levels that is a that there there's a starting date and an end date and that for a very small period of time so if i give like context of this we might be talking about somebody that needs to bust over a plateau and they they maybe they eating lower carbohydrates or eating enough carbs to fuel their activity And we don't want to bring the protein down, but we might be able to save a couple of hundred grams of calories by just dropping fat a little bit lower. But just understand that that's a plateau buster. Once you bust that plateau, we need to bring that fat back up a little bit. Or it might be somebody that's the last three weeks, last four weeks before they do a step on stage or they do a photo shoot. Sometimes we might have to take it down, but it's very small period of time that we would do that.
