Importance of Technique and Qualified Instruction
January 17, 2025
In a big training class, you don't have that. Like you have a bunch of people throwing weights around, like having seizures all over the place, and the coach is not even really usually coaching or doing any technique work with people. So it's not a great place for beginners to start. A beginner needs to start at the beginning, which means you have to learn how to squat. Then you have to learn how to squat with heavier weight and how to keep the ship together. Because every time you add weight, the movement becomes slightly different. You have to learn how to overhead press, deadlift, use machines, like anything that you're going to use. You have to be taught how to do that. It's if you were really serious about swimming, like you wouldn't just jump in the pool and try to swim. you would probably take a class, somebody who hires somebody to teach you how to swim effectively, because you would never get good at swimming. You just be really good at not drowning, but you would never actually learn how to swim properly. And squatting is the same way, deadlifting, bench pressing, all this stuff. Training with weights is the same thing. You have to have good qualified instruction.
